Lazzie, our Lazada mascot pops up to make things more fun especially during times of assurance. This side project was meant to revamp the Lazzie's and re-illustrate them - but I took one step further.

We were initiating to have more gestures for Lazzie, as there are multiple instances when he appears. Also a problem we faced was inconsistency in Lazzie's look.

Thinking few steps ahead, I created a compoment library for the regional team. After designing these Lazzie - so that they can be used anywhere, left or right, with different facial expressions any time and yet maintain consistency.
A comprehensive guide, similar to a brand manual, designed for designers within the Lazada Design Studio and external graphic designers. This guide serves as a reference for creating new variations of the Lazzie character, building on the full Lazzie asset library to ensure consistency across all designs.
Every part of Lazzie has been turned into a component, after carefully identifying what elements can and cannot be manipulated. This was especially crucial for new creations.
This process proved far more complex than a typical UI design library, as small adjustments, like changing the position of the head, affected pivot points and required corresponding changes to facial expressions, adding significant complexity to ensure consistency and accuracy in the illustrations.
In addition to the complexity of the main character components, we also had to account for variations in supplementary illustrations, such as the box, motorcycle, and backgrounds. Each of these elements required careful consideration to maintain consistency across all designs and ensure they integrated seamlessly with the primary character components.
